This car was bought around 9-10 years ago by my later father in law in its current specification. The car has been sold by Bernard de Dreyver (Driver that entered two World Championship Formula One Grands Prix, the Belgian Grand Prix in 1977 and 1978)
F3 space frame chassis with Hewland 5 speed gearbox and what I believe to be 1600 cc BDA engine on twin Weber carbs. The engine has been prepared by Richardson (UK) in 2013. The bodywork and the overall car condition is in mint condition. (see pictures)
The car was blue when he acquired it and had it painted red. The car was not raced by him but he drove the car in 2 or 3 test/track days and some Historic demonstration events the last was 2014.
Below is the cars main history with information taken from Oldracingcars.com website
New to Ed Reeves for F3 in 1970, and delivered in March 1970 with a Holbay engine and blue bodywork. Raced extensively by Reeves in British F3, and also appeared in some European races. To Roger Hurst (Folkestone, Kent) of Lenham Hurst Racing Organisation for 1971, and fitted with a Rowland twin cam for the new 1600cc F3. Sold to 19-year-old Formula Ford driver Richard Croucher (Kent) in October 1971, and intended to be used in F3 with a Piper engine in 1972. Only entered at a few races in 1972 for Croucher as the Lenham LM1. Converted to Formula Ford 2000 specification by Hurst in 1974 or 1975, and presumably the car entered by Brian Davis in 1975. Later to Tim Campbell 1977/78 but unraced by him.
I have had the car inspected by a reputable marque expert and they advised me it is an an original unmolested chassis and body with nose cone for the front wings. The uprights are not original 703 specification but 708/718 March FFord uprights and steel brake callipers. Reading the cars history you can see the car has been converted by the late Roger Hurst to FF2000 specification.
For sale as it is now complete 39950 euro (eventually only rolling chassis 27500 euro is a possibility) - BDA engine only 13500 euro.
Viewing is advised in Waterloo (Belgium) or Lille (France), around 1 hours from Calais. Contact Frederic for more photos or appointment to view. (Je parle Français - Ik spreek Nederland - Ich spreche Deutsch)
I cannot offer any more information than given above so please do not expect me to have many answers but a physical viewing will answer more questions than I can answer.
