Description
The test day at the Hungaroring is exclusively for formula racing cars – Formula 4, Formula D2, Formula Renault, F3 and other formula series. The cars will be divided into two groups, each with a maximum of 20 cars, which will take turns on the track. This ensures that only one group is on the track at any one time, allowing for clean laps and usable data.
Each group has 5 sessions with a total of 210 minutes’ track time: 2 × 45 minutes in the morning and 3 × 40 minutes in the afternoon. The session begins at 08:50 with 10 minutes of sighting laps; the lunch break is from 12:00 to 13:00, and the session ends at 17:00. The timetable is set – ideal for roll-outs, set-up work and tyre testing ahead of the next race.
The Hungaroring is located around 20 km north-east of Budapest: 4.4 km, 14 corners, narrow, twisty and technically demanding. Noise limit 105 dB (F4s may race without an additional silencer). Arrival and pit set-up are possible from 6.00 pm on the evening before (18 October); the compulsory briefing takes place on the day of the event.
